We love a good braid and were so excited to learn about this very mermaid-y rope braid from friend and amazing stylist Stephanie Campbell at Campbell & Campbell Salon in Beacon, NY! Step 1: Blow dry hair or brush hair Step 2: Set hair with a curling iron for defined waves and then give texture with Golden Waves Shimmer Spray or Mermaid Sea Salt Hair Spray. You can also just use salt sprays, no curling iron, for less defined curls. Step 3: Starting on one side of part, take two pieces of hair. Twist each piece of hair from roots to ends. Step 4: Wrap two twisted pieces of hair around each other. Pin or clip at back of head....

Ginger Bug Soda

For years, I have on and off been making Kombucha, which I love. I tend to get really into it and then quickly overwhelmed by how it tends to take over our house. I just started making another fermented probiotic beverage, Ginger Bug Soda. It is delicious and so far, a lot easier to keep under control. I love making it with hibiscus tea, but there are endless variations. Magic Pumpkin

Magic Pumpkin
I live in the upstate New York surrounded by apple orchards and farms. Fall is particularly spectacular up here not only due to the leaves but to the epic number of pumpkin patches in the vicinity. I look forward every year to taking my two little ones to pick out a pumpkin and also look forward to using what’s left of the pumpkin once we carve it.
