I live in the upstate New York surrounded by apple orchards and farms. Fall is particularly spectacular up here not only due to the leaves but to the epic number of pumpkin patches in the vicinity. I look forward every year to taking my two little ones to pick out a pumpkin and also look forward to using what’s left of the pumpkin once we carve it. What lies inside is a sumptuous treat for all the senses. Pumpkins are not only beautiful to look at but delicious to eat. Why switch to natural deodorants?

I am asked often why switch to natural deodorants when the deodorant people are using works for them? I wanted to dig into the pits today. Conventional deodorants and many "natural" deodorants include harmful ingredients which inhibit proper body function and can be absorbed into our bloodstream. Aluminum Chloride is an effective antiperspirant since it effectively blocks sweat ducts but it is also a known neurotoxin. Our body needs to perspire to release toxins, by blocking sweat we are going against our body's natural function. In addition to Aluminum, deodorants often contain the antibacterial petroleum based ingredient Triclosan, Propylene Glycol, which is used in many things including anti-freeze, and synthetic fragrance,which can be made of thousands of unregulated chemicals.
